Hey. I have 2 new plotter. After some time of inactivity, when the screen is clicked, the error is 79.2: 04 0xbabe0006 SIGSEGV. This error appears when the plotter is connected to the internal network of the organization. If you create a network from the PC-switch plotter, then there is no error.
Technical support says that the problem is not with the plotter, but in our network.

Please help me figure out what the problem is.

Thank you for using the HP forum.

Error : 79.2 04

Problem Description: The system error 79:04 is a generic firmware error (equivalent to a blue screen in Windows). It’s the system error that the printer will display when an unknown exception occurs that cannot be identified as relating to any specific subsystem of the printer.
Since this is a generic error, there can be multiple causes behind it.

The possible cause could be: Network related (as mentioned by you, issue persists only when connected to your network)

Corrective Action:

1. Check the plotter in stand alone mode ( without network connection ) if plotter comes to ready mode, then there is no hardware issue.

2. Connect network cable to the plotter when it shows ready, if it gives error 79.2 04 when connected network cable, might be network port\cable is faulty.

3. Try changing network port and then network cable, if issue got resolved then error was causing due to faulty network port or cable.

4. After changing port\cable if still error 79.2 04 persists change the IP address assigned to the plotter.(if it get resolved then error was due to communication failure with IP address ).

5. If error 79.2 04 persists during printing from pc, then first check with driver test page. if test page prints fine, then driver has no issues, check with different applications like pdf, word and excel.

6. If error 79.2 04 persists during printing from one particular application, reinstall that particular application and then check printing.
