Help! I've got a DesignJet 5400 that normally prints fabric posters just beautifully. Recently, however, I've started getting a light gray "ghost" line that begins about one-third of the way through the printing process. Sometimes the line appears; at other times, it doesn't...and it only appears when I print on fabric. It's not present when I print on paper.

We've had printer repair folks come out three times. Their best guess is that it has something to do with the quality of the fabric (7 mil woven polyester).

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to remedy it?

Thanks!

If it's the fabric coating, you should see this "effect" on even places on the roll if you print long image (but not always) and I've seen this on different rolls from same batch (when printing I hear a sound like removing duct tape). Take a look closely (with magnifying glass or something) where image is different and observe coating itself. Try a different roll...
