Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,  does anyone know I can use the old HP Designjet 455va printer with a Wndows 10 PC?

Is there a drver that works with the  Windows 10 system?

That's going to be a tough one to find.  I think, from the HP website, the last driver they made was for Windows ME.  I've had some luck trying the driver for Windows XP and Windows 7 on older models of printers but even that is hard to find now.  HP website no longer provides a download for the older versions of Windows for this printer so you might have to do an exhaustive google search to find some website that still has one for free.  Sometimes printer repair shops that advertise on the web have older drivers archived.

How are you connecting the printer to your computer?  What type of cable?  If you've connected, will it print a test page?

I would guess there's a work around for getting something printed, like using an older computer set up with a different version of windows but it may not be compatible with the program(s) you're using to create the file you want to print.

It might be time to update your printer to a newer, used model.

I've had some luck using the driver for the HP 750C series printers to print to the older printers but never tried it on a 455CA.  I do have a copy of the 750C driver for Windows 7 that I attached.  It's a zipped file for a 64bit computer.  Not sure it will go through this forum but it's worth a try.  Unzip it and use the "add a printer" function and point to the unzipped files.  It might come up with the 455CA as an option.  If not, try the 750c.  I'm assuming the 455 you're using is a color printer.

Maybe someone else has some other solutions for you.  Let us know what you find.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
