Enabling Access URL in SIP Messages
Parameters called mb.ssawc.call.mode and mb.ssawc.enabled where added to SIP or UCS releases.
Both of the above where introduced to utilize the spontaneous display of web content within a SIP message within the Phones microbrowser.
The UCS 4.0.1 or later Admin Guide contains a detailed explanation within the “Enabling Access URL in SIP Messages” section.
Note:Currently only the HTTP scheme is supported.
An example use case scenario can be used in the following ways:
• A Call Center
- A URL is attached to an incoming call and displays extended information about a customer before the agent takes the call.
- The phone can display a script of questions for an agent to ask a caller, and a different script can be provided to different agent groups.
• A Restaurant menu on a hotel phone
- A guest dials a number for the restaurant or room service and a voice indicates that the menu is available for viewing on the phone.
The Feature needs to be enabled using => provisioning <= via:
<web mb.ssawc.enabled="1" mb.ssawc.call.mode="active" />
- If mb.ssawc.enabled is set to 0, spontaneous display of web content is disabled (Factory default).
- If mb.ssawc.enabled is set to 1, spontaneous display of web content is enabled.
- If mb.ssawc.call.mode is is set to passive, spontaneous display of web content is set to passive (Factory default).
- If mb.ssawc.call.mode is is set to active, spontaneous display of web content is set to active.
Only if mb.ssawc.enabled="1" is enabled the Menu Option can be toggled via Menu => Settings => Basic => Preferences => SIP Web Content
Active Display:
Whilst the Phone is signaling the call the content is displayed (duration depends on expires= Value)
Passive Display:
Whilst the Phone is signaling or the call is answered the availability of content is indicated via a lightning bolt icon (duration depends on expires= Value)
The phone user can press the Select key to display the Web content.
Wireshark Trace showing the content URL within the SIP Invite (Re-INVITE or UPDATE is supported as well)
Note: Please consult the UCS Admin Guide matching your Software Version for all details around this parameter.
