Poly manufactures different SKUs stock-keeping units to cover different Partner solutions. Therefore some of the hardware is set at the factory only to display options originally intended for the device.

This will show on units running the OOB / Out Of Box wizard.

A Partner may not want to offer other Base Profiles depending on the SKU purchased originally. In this case, the Base Profile cannot be changed from the factory's intended Partner.

Different Hardware Partnumber SKU examples:

-001 Global SKU / openSIP
-025 Global SKU / openSIP
-018 "old" Microsoft LYNC SKU
-019 Microsoft Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams SKU
-114 Russia (no SRTP)

  • A CCX 400 Phone purchased as -025 and Software 1.0.x to 6.2.x can only run openSIP out of Box
Update this to a software 7.x.x or later to be able to select other profiles

  • A CCX 400 Phone purchased as -019 and Software 1.0.x or 1.0.1 can only run Microsoft Teams out of Box
Update this to a software 7.x.x or later to be able to select other profiles

  • A CCX 400 Phone purchased as -019 and Software 5.x or 6.x can only run Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business out of Box
Update this to a software 7.x.x or later to be able to select other profiles

Downgrading a phone to this Version will only run Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business out of the Box. It cannot be changed or flashed to a different Version

  • A CCX 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 was purchased as -025 and Software 6.2.x can only run openSIP out of Box
Update this to a software 7.x.x or later to be able to select other profiles

Downgrading a phone to this Version will only run openSIP out of the Box. It cannot be changed or flashed to a different Version
  • A CCX 400 / 500 / 600 purchased as -019 and Software 6.2.x can only run Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business out of Box
Update this to a software 7.x.x or later to be able to select other profiles

Downgrading a phone to this Version will only run Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business out of the Box. It cannot be changed or flashed to a different Version

  • A CCX 400 / 500 / 600 / 700 once upgraded to UC Software 7.0.x or later will still only show the intended factory providers but can change the Base Profile once the phone is running either via the Phone UI or via the Web Interface

Downgrading a phone prior to Version 7.x.x will only run the original desired version based on the SKU out of the Box. It cannot be changed or flashed to a different Version

Another example is the Trio 8500 / 8800 and C60 (running UC Software 5.9.5) which after a factory reset or out of the box a -019 SKU will offer:

  • Skype for Business
  • Microsoft optimized Mode
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Poly Controller
  • Poly Trio Daisy-chain

It may have pre-selected either Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business

The above, depending on the Hardware, is applicable for the Trio and CCX phones as well (CCX 700 does not offer Microsoft Teams) once they run on UC Software 7.0.x or later.

Change the Factory set Provider / Mode

To change to any different partner or mode either:

  • Find the IP Address of the Phone browse to the Web Interface go to Simple Setup and change the Provider

Note: You may have to enable the Webinterface on the Phone first to be able to access it.

  • Download one of the attached ZIP files matching the profile wanted unzip both files and copy these on a FAT32 formatted USB Stick.

Then boot the device after a factory reset (You may have to change the password first and confirm this and then once the next screen appears plug in the USB stick and confirm USB Provisioning) and the device will provision from the USB stick into the desired mode (The file contains instructions in case any changes are wanted) if compatible as outlined above in detail.

The configuration will also apply the EULA, and set the language to English and a UK timezone.

The Password, if the USB files are used, will be 789

    or
