I have a handful of IP430s that I 'inherited' and I've gone into the web interface, and the phone itself and set it to factory, but somehow, off-hook dialing is turned on, and I can't seem to figure out where to go to turn it off. I see that there are some lines in a file called macaddress.cfg, but I don't know how to get to that file on the phone. It's not available via the GUI.

Thanks!

Hello Scott,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition you may want to look at :

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the relevance of the 000000000000.cfg or <mac>.cfg?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

or

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Also could you kindly elaborate what you mean by Off-Hook Dialing ?

Do you mean the digitmap ?

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference

Resolution: Please check => here <=

You can simply remove this via the Web Interface

I have a phone that no matter what I do, I can't stop it from autodialing an internal extension when the handset is picked up. I've deleted all three settings options under the admin settings menu. One thing I noticed is that when it boots, it loads sip_326.ld, and the other phones load sip.ld. Is this something that I should investigate? I left the network cable unplugged when I did the last reset, and it said that it couldn't find 0004f217744.cfg when it booted, and now it keeps rebooting with that message.

How can I flush this out? It also said that it can't connect to boot server, using existing config.

Weird.

Hello Scott,

You already started the above post so I joined your new, nearly identical post, to this existing post.

Could you kindly answer the above question and in addition specify if the "other" phone is the same type or a different model?

As already made aware the Community contains a very broad  VoIP FAQ which for example has this post:

Oct 10, 2012 Question: I get the error Message "error loading 00xxxxxxxxxx.cfg" and then Phone continues to reboot

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above simply means that the Phone is unable to find its own configuration file on the provisioning server.

As you basically factory reset the phone you will need to provide it with the location of its Provisioning server.

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Before you point it to that check  / search your configuration files for the parameter described here:

Jan 22, 2014 QuestionHow can I get the phone to automatically dial a number when the handset is lifted?

Resolution: Please check => here <=
