We have a new IP 7000 soundstation here and it still refuses to change the system language (and web language as well) to german. Software version is 4.0.9.0509
When I take a look to the diagnostic log it always says "Failed to download language file from hosted server, request path http://downloads.polycom.com/......"
Any hints?

Hello Martin,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Does your network allow Port 80 access to the address the phone wants to reach?
I suggest you setup a local provisioning server.
The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Hello Steffen,
thank you for pointing me to the FAQ (provisioning server) and yes the phone has web access to specified address. I tried this manually with the same result.
Well, I think it's just a lot of work to set up a privisioning server just to switch the language for a single VoIP phone 🙂 Is this the only way to do this?

Hello Martin,
I did reach out to you in order to get this raised as a support ticket as I am able to reproduce on an SSIP7000 but not on a SSIP5000

Hello all,
I created a new FAQ post as this is due memory constraints on certain Phone Models
Sep 16, 2015 Question:Why am I unable to change the language on a SSIP7000, SPIP670, SPIP650, SPIP560, or SPIP550 without a Provisioning Server?
Resolution: A local provisioning server is required as explained in this post => here <=
