Hi,
I am writing a driver for the IP7000 in order to be able to control it from a third party control system. I searched through all Polycom public web repositories and still can't find a clear document that explains the protocol, details the API endpoints and stuff like that.
Anybody can help with this?
Thank you.

Hello @Jecot,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Both the community's Must Read First and the community's FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.
This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.
As a reminder the basic information asked for:
- Provide the exact Software Version of your Phone
- Provide the Phone Model
- Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP, Skype for Business, Lync)
- If applicable provide a backup of the phone in question
- If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
- Provide details if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
Best Regards

Hi Mr. Baier, thank you for your time.
One thing to understand here, is that we write drivers for clients who, themselves either own the device or are planning on buying them, often involume. Meanwhile, our job is to design a driver that can be tested against the hardware as soon as the device gets in.
So all I know is that the required driver is for a Polycom IP7000, latest version, latest Firmware. Again, I don't have access to the phone yet.
Even in this situation, it shouldn't be that hard to get a hold of the IP7000 protocol manual/API, right?
So:
Software: the latest
Phone model: Polycom IP7000
Platform: all of them
MAC or SN: ???
Thank you so much for helping out.

Hello @Jecot,
Stating the latest software does not help others when finding this post in days, weeks, months or years to come as they do not know what software mentioned was current at the time of writing.
Please therefore always post the exact complete build id.
The Polycom VoIP FAQ contains these post here:
Feb 04, 2013 Question: Can I remotely control the Phone or send content to the Phone?
Answer: The <apps/> parameter can be used to utilize the push server controls and more information can be found => here <=
Apr 21, 2015 Question: Can I use advanced remote control possibilities / CTI?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Thanks again Mr. Baier, although I'd be surprised if a repost from 2013 would be up to par with the IP7000 latest firmware version API, as of September 2018. Would it?
So if I provide you with the serial number of the device (requested from the client), will you be able to get me an official document/protocol manual/API for the current firmware version?
At the moment, I am going throught the Polycom® UC Software 5.8.0 document. Does that support the IP7000 as of right now?
Thank you very much.

Hello @Jecot,
Again I can only refer you to the Polycom VoIP FAQ:

Resolution: Please check => here <=
The SSIP7000 does not support the REST API as described:
