Recently there was a configuration change on the switch end, its been moved from open mode to ISE closed mode. Now the machine/systems connected to those ports will need to provide the ids and credentials and then only it will get authenticated and authorized through cisco ISE.

So after this change, when we try to login to the phone with the correct ext and pin it is never taking. It says incorrect pin or extension. We tried resetting the pin to new one, it didnot take the new one as well. Then we thought it might have stored the old credential and not allowing to take new one so did factory reset also tried hard reset still not luck. It gives the same error incorrect pin or extension ( and we are very sure that we have entered the correct one). Its with CX3000 and CX600, havent tried other models.

Any idea why it is not working and how to make it work with the pin authentication?

Hello Khush,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Could you kindly follow up your other post's => here <= first ?

Doing so will help other users to find these if the reply provided has helped you.

For PIN & Extension related issues it is very important that the Phone and the LYNC Server utilize the same time. Even being 10 minutes off can fail for Pin Auth.

In regards of CX phone queries Polycom and other manufacturers produce these optimized for Microsoft® Lync® devices after a reference design and the embedded OS running on the phones is provided, supported and maintained by our partner Microsoft®.

You therefore may want to reach out to the Microsoft® community and / or Microsoft® support directly instead as this is the most direct and efficient path.
