Wow, thank you for pointing that out, I feel like a fool.
So I downloaded:
Polycom_UC_Updater_5_0_3_release_sig.zip
and
Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_4_release_sig_combined.zip
Unzipped them and put them into the folder, then I rebooted the phone.
Unfortunately, this is what I got:
Waiting for Network to Initialize
Updating Initial Configuration
Updating bootrom.ld Please Wait
Image is not Compatible with this Phone
Error, Application not Present!
Rebooting
Is it possible that I messed up the phone beyond repair by trying to load the wrong files?
I'm going to try downloading the downgrader and the UC 3.3.3 software and run with that, maybe i'll get back to zero.

I ran the downgrader with the files for 3.3.3, it worked, kind of...
It downgraded to 3.3.2 (I triple checked the file this time, it definitely was 3.3.3).
I ran the Polycom_UC_Updater_5_0_3_release_sig.zip with the Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_4_release_sig_combined.zip
It failed. After it sat for a while with the 'Updating bootrom.ld please wait' screen, it again said: Image not compatible with this Phone.
However, it completed the boot and went back to the normal start screen.
So I tried updating it to 3.3.5 and was successful.
I tried updating again to 5.0.3 / 4.0.4 and it failed again with the same messages.
Any suggestions?
To top it all off, the phone was wiped and reset to factory settings, so I have to try and get it registered on the phone switch again. Since I know that can be done, my higher priority is the upgrade to 4.0.4 though.

Hello Mark,
I had a quick chat with the developers (as I always dump all files in one directory) and it may be the fact that you need the 4.0.4 Upgrader and the 5.0.x Updater in combination with the UCS 4.0.x Software for the SSIP6000 and SSIP7000.
Please download the Upgrader from => here <=
Basically:
- Polycom ® UC Software 4.0.4 for SoundPoint IP, SoundStation IP and Polycom VVX Series Split or Combined
- SoundStation IP UCS Updater 5.0.3 Utility
- SoundPoint IP, SoundStation IP and Polycom VVX Upgrader 4.4.0B
I will test this once I have access to my lab next week.
Best Regards
