I want to connect a microphone to my computer, but am not sure if it even has microphone port.  If so I don't see how to activate the microphone.

Thanks for any guidance,  Uncle Dewey

I thought a microphone port was on the front of the desktop, but when I plugs the microphone in I can't "see" that it is there nor how to activate it.  I'll give it another try.

Thanks for your interest,  Uncle Dewey

@UncleDewey

Its specs

   https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c06154571

It has standard   1 headphone/microphone combo port you can use this port for a headset, headphones or microphone.

Worse case you have to use an adapter called Y adapter.

Regards.

Since my computer is new and I had signed up for support, so I talked to them yesterday.  I found out the port/jack on the front is for headphones only.  I was pointed to a "pink  part on the rear and that worked.  Evidently "pink" is standard for a microphone port/jack.

Thanks a bunch,  Uncle Dewey
