Hi All,

Please help -- I'm having a problem with my audio. I really notice it in Teams meetings but I think we've landed on a system issue. Here's what I know

  1. Windows Audio is repeatedly crashing.
  2. The crash involves audiosrv.dll.
  3. Windows file repairs haven't resolved the issue.
  4. We've investigated Realtek drivers and Intel audio components.
  5. The problem affects Microsoft Teams and Windows audio, not just one application.

Hi @lmps69,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for sharing these details.

Since Windows Audio is repeatedly crashing with audiosrv.dll, and you've already tried Windows file repairs and investigated the Realtek and Intel audio components, the issue may involve a deeper Windows audio service, driver, or software conflict rather than Microsoft Teams alone.

To help narrow this down, could you please confirm a few details?

  • What is the exact HP laptop or desktop model?
  • Which Windows version are you running (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
  • Did this start after a Windows update, an audio driver update, or a change to the system?
  • Does the Windows Audio service stop unexpectedly in Services (services.msc), and does Event Viewer show any additional error details alongside audiosrv.dll?

In the meantime, please check whether the issue occurs in a clean boot environment.

A clean boot starts Windows with a minimal set of startup applications and services, which can help identify whether third-party software is interfering with audio.

Microsoft provides instructions here: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Please share the details above, especially the Event Viewer error information. We can then narrow down the next troubleshooting steps without repeating the repairs you've already completed.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
