For the past 2 days, every time I try to shut down my computer, I get this message: CiceroUIWindFrame: HPAudioSwitch.exe-Application Error

The instruction at 0x000000000045857C referenced memory at 0x000000000045857C.  The memory could not be written.

Running the HP support stuff hasn't shown any errors, but it will keep my computer stuck on all night if I don't happen to see it and terminate the program.  What does it do?  Can I get rid of it or disable it?

@Ashlin Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are getting the HPAudioSwitch application error.

Do not worry. Let's work together and get this issue addressed.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

While I wait for the answers, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1 – Right-click on an empty area on the Taskbar and select Task Manager.

Step 2 – When Task Manager comes up, click the Startup tab and look through the list of programs and find HP Audio Switch Box and right-click on it and select disable.

Step 3 - Restart the computer and check whether the issue is resolved.
