Thanks for all the above feedback! And appreciate you adding your product names.
More troubleshooting is needed for this issue. So we recommend you to open a case with HP technical support if you can. And running HP ImageDiags (HP Commercial PC only) on your PC before calling may save time as the agent can directly start from there to see if audio driver is the latest etc.

CxUtilSvc.exe runs the Conexant Utility Service, a core process associated with Conexant SmartAudio II. This is not an essential process for Windows and can be disabled if known to create problems. Conexant SmartAudio II is a driver interface that lets users control program settings related to Conexant audio chipsets.
Conexant crapware has been causing problems at least since 2018.
Disabling it is not helping, because it starts messing again after the next Windows update. PLEASE REMOVE THIS CRAPWARE PERMANENTLY. Thank you!

This was also wreaking havoc on my EliteDesk 800G5 mini causing it to overheat and shut down numerous times over the course of the last couple of days.
I tried a system restore and it wound up overheating during that and had to fully reinstall windows 10.
Very angering to say the least!

Hi Oscar,
I found and reported CxUIUsvc issue first time 2018 when I bought a new ZBook 17 G 5.
HP launched a fix in 2019. Now the same issue has made a comeback.
Oscar, I tell you something: The issue returns after a few days to your PC.

We have an HP ProDesk 600 G4 MT with 16.0 GB of RAM. Using Process Explorer from Sysinternals showed the CxUIUSvc Service using a whopping 45 GB for Private Bytes and the working set was either 25 GB or 2.5 GB, I don't recall, because I killed it almost instantaneously when I saw it. I then stopped the service and changed it to manual. I can't tell any negatives effects with the service not running. Sound appears normal. I ran the service again to see if it was going to grow out of control, but of course, under a watchful eye, it settled at around 1.5 MB of memory for the short period of time I let it run.

The solve for this problem on the first page is much easier said than done.
Either HP should send a fix for this or explicitly explain how it's done.
It involves going into the task manager which I'm sure many people are NOT comfortable with.
