Hi @Ishead8,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're hearing a buzzing noise when you plug in headphones or speakers into your HP ENVY Desktop TE01-1150xt, it could be due to several reasons.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check the Audio Jack Connection:

  • Ensure the audio jack is securely plugged into the correct port on your desktop. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause buzzing or static noise.

Test with Different Headphones/Speakers:

  • Try using different headphones or speakers to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem lies with your current audio device.

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted audio drivers can cause audio issues. Update your audio drivers to the latest version. You can do this by:
    • Right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting "Device Manager."
    • Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" section.
    • Right-click on your audio device and select "Update driver."

Check for Interference:

  • Electrical interference from other devices or cables near the audio jack can sometimes cause buzzing. Try moving any nearby devices or cables away from the desktop.

Adjust Audio Settings:

  • Sometimes, audio settings such as volume levels or enhancements can affect audio quality. Try adjusting these settings:
    • Right-click the volume icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings."
    • Under "Advanced sound options," click on "App volume and device preferences" to check individual app settings.

Inspect for Hardware Issues: HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures

  • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the audio jack or the motherboard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
