Replacement Optical Drive for HP Envy DEsktop 795-0009na

I'm trying to source a replacement Optical Drive for my Envy 795-0009 in the UK.

My current one recognises and reads DVDs, but while it recognises that a CD is inserted (rather than a DVD), it shows the CD's content as empty when it is clearly not.

The part number and description of the drive that came with your PC is:

853885-800

DVD - GNRC, ODD DVDSM 9.5 Slim Tray RAZR

HP does not sell the part, so you may want to see if you can find a used but tested and working one on eBay or check that list of PC suppliers that HP has suggested on the below link.

You may need to exchange the bezel from the drive you have now to the one you buy.
