After uninstalling the Device Manager > System devices > High Definition Audio Controller and restarting, still no sound. Then went to hp.com support > EliteDesk 800 G5 Desktop Mini PC > Software and drivers > Windows 11 23H2 (since no 24H2), downloaded the Driver-Audio > Synaptics HD Audio Driver (Version 8.65.319.200 Rev A, Release date Sep 25, 2024) file sp115227.exe. When downloading, it recommended using the Download and Install Assistant. But since HPIA indicated it did not have info for version 24H2 and HP Support Assist had not fixed the sound problem, I clicked on "No thanks, I will download and install manually". Executed sp115227.exe which put added the C:\SWSETUP:\sp115227 folder. In that folder, executed HPUP.exe but nothing seemed to happen. So opened folder src\driver\ and executed Setup64.exe which opened up an installation window. Ran the installation, it ended successfully, restarted the computer, and now have sound!

Hope this works for others. And hope HP releases Windows 11 Version 24H2 Sofware and drivers soon for all of their 24H2 compatible machines. And hope HP updates HPIA and HP Support Assistant to update any drivers needed for 24H2. I'm also putting the above info into any other HP Community entries I've seen about no sound after 24H2.
