Hi, 

I just bought soundbar s101 for the monitor e27 g5 and hoped it would be possible to obtain sound from my tv (I use my monitor sometimes to watch tv). The tv decoder connects to the monitor via hdmi cable, but there is no sound. I tried to connect the upstream cable to the decoder but nothing works. Is it possible to fix somehow? Or you just cant use it as a tv?

According to the spec page for the HP E27 G5 27" Monitor, there are no speakers in the monitor.  Therefore the sound coming thru the HDMI connections has no place to go.  There needs to be a connection from the "tv decoder " directly to the soundbar via either the headphone jack or the USB port.

You might include some additional info on whatever the tv decoder is and how it can connect.

I was afraid of this. I ordered hdmi audio extractor and hope this will help. It would be so much easier if they included audio ports inside the monitor or this sort of audio extractor. Thanks for your help.
