@BonukaSageeth, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP desktop's sound is not working on Windows 10 (64-bit), here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Physical Connections

  • Ensure your speakers or headphones are properly plugged in.
  • If using external speakers, verify they are powered on and volume is turned up.

Set the Correct Playback Device

  • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → SoundsPlayback tab.
  • Select the correct audio device (e.g., “Speakers – Realtek High Definition Audio”) and click Set Default.
  • Click OK to save.

Run Windows Audio Troubleshooter

  • Go to SettingsUpdate & SecurityTroubleshootAdditional troubleshooters.
  • Select Playing AudioRun the troubleshooter.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (right-click Start → Device Manager).
  • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  • Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek, Conexant, etc.) → Update driverSearch automatically.
  • If that doesn’t help, try Uninstall device, then restart your PC to reinstall it automatically.

You can also manually download the latest audio driver from HP: Official HP® Support

Enter your desktop model number to find the correct audio driver.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to SettingsUpdate & SecurityWindows UpdateCheck for updates.
  • Install any pending updates and restart your PC.

BIOS Update (if applicable)

Sometimes audio issues are resolved by updating the BIOS: HP Consumer Desktop PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) (Windows) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.
