I have a 10 month old Omen 40L desktop that has started to automatically shut down every few days (no lights, no fan, nothing).
Once it shuts down I have to pull the plug for a bit then plug it back to recover. If I don't, no lights, no fan, nothing. I must pull the plug. Internet searching is interestingly quite on the subject... I've updated the bios and ran HP Hardware Diag
TIA for any thoughts.

Hi @radioguy2
Welcome to the HP Forum.
EDIT: I would contact HP Support if in warranty.
Having to reset the power supply suggests you have a flaky power supply or an intermittent short or a voltage problem somewhere in the system (PSU protection circuits may be activating) which could include the MB or any component connected to the MB. And you can't exclude the power button.
You would have to systematically, one component at a time, reduce the PC to a minimum config (CPU, one stick of RAM, and try only a monitor) to find the cause.Try each stick of RAM in each memory slot. Try onboard graphics if your CPU supports this.
This includes removing unnecessary peripherals.
