HP 251-a123w Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can turn my pc and it starts to do the automatic repair stuff, then does not load or repair. I have tried f11 technique, bootrec, and many of the easily found techniques on YouTube. This only started almost 2 days ago. Computer first started acting weird about the WiFi and then I restarted it and it started the automatic repair and this time would not load and now I’m stuck please help.

Hi,

I think either your hdd is faulty, or you have a corrupt WIndows installation.

Can you try tapping F2 when turning the PC on and run the HDD tests. The extensive tests will take a while, so be patient.

If the HDD tests pass, then run the memory tests, faulty RAM *could* result in a corrupt OS and BSOD etc..

If both pass, then Windows may have just broken itself.

Your PC will have a digital embedded Windows 8 Product Key, so if the F11 recovery does not work, then you can either call HP and see if they'll send you the recovery media, or you can download WIndows 10 from microsoft and make a bootable USB stick with the install files. You can get it from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10

If you use the installation media tool, it'll create the stick for you. Once it's done, leave the stick in the PC and turn off/on .. Keep tapping F9 and select the USB stick as the boot device.

If you have data on the HDD that you don't want to lose, then I suggest you make another stick with Hirens Windows 10 PE on it. Now, I'm assuming you have access to another working PC for all this. You can get hirens from here: https://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ .. Lastly you'll need Rufus to create the USB stick from the Hirens ISO that you downloaded. Rufus you can get here: https://rufus.ie/ .. It's pretty self explanatory, but if you need assistance, you can either google it or reply to this thread & I'll try to help.

Once you have booted off the Hirens USB (Same way as the WIndows installer described above) You'll be presented with a Windows 10 desktop. From here you can plug in an external USB HDD and copy your data off before re-installing WIndows 10.

Hope this helps.
