HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0020
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When updating the BIOS for my HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0020, the PC restarted, but there was no output to the monitor. I turned off the PC by holding the power button, and now it won't boot up. When first turning it on, there are 8 beeps, and then a 2.2 beep pattern (two long beeps then two short beeps). The monitor will not display anything despite using keystrokes (holding windows key and B or V) and a flash drive containing the BIOS update.

@User1122,

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows after a BIOS update and it is beeping.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Thank you for your response. I have already attempted to recover the bios using the steps in the article you linked, particularly the article called 'Recovering the BIOS'. I have attempted every step and alternative step repeatedly and thoroughly, including using a usb with a BIOS update on it to start recovery. Despite this, my desktop PC has not output anything through the monitor, so it is likely a hardware issue. How should I go about addressing this?

@User1122,

If the steps I shared didn't do the trick, then I recommend you contact support and check the available service option for your computer as this needs to be fixed at HP service center.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!
