Hello. Been struggling with this for a long while now and finally decided to reach out. I have a PC (Pavilion - 590 - p0039) and one day after I did an update everything just went to crap. Screen went black, then it started beeping and me and none of usb components could be read. The beeps are currently 2 Short and 2 Long. I’ve tried anything and everything I could find to zero forward progress. Rest the CMos (I think) I changed the battery, bridged the pins even. Tried new Ram sticks to see if that was an issue. I know they worked since I used them in a previous machine and moved them to this one to test. Nothing. Any help or insight on this project would be helpful. Or at least someone to tell me it’s done for so I can put it out of my mind. Lol. Thanks in advance!

Greetings @Waylon713
Welcome to the HP Forum.
The 2:2 error code indicates your PC has received a BIOS update which may have corrupted the BIOS.
Your PC's MB has two associated MB SSIDs. The update may have installed the wrong BIOS version. I've seen this happen before in this Forum.
HP Support sites have been spotty lately so I can't zero in on the correct MB SSID for your PC. I don't know if HP imprints the SSID on the MB. Check your MB for a SSID.
The two latest BIOS updates (MB SSID 8433 or MB SSID 8436) for your PC are Here. You have a one in two chance of picking the right BIOS update.
Newer HP Desktop BIOS updates can create a USB BIOS recovery drive when run on a different PC. Carefully peruse this HP Support document and associated links for details.
However, this procedure will probably not work if the PC has no video and USB function. This seems to be your situation.
You might need a local PC Tech who can flash the BIOS using a serial ISP programmer if the Tech can figure out which BIOS is right for your MB.
The Tech can try both updates.
Or you can look for a replacement MB at eBay.
I don't know how much money you want to sink into an aging PC.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I don’t have any USB function and was honestly thinking MB replacement was my only option. Are there any cheap replacements you’d recommend? It’s not for my main system it’s for a relative to just have a desktop that works. So no need for high end top tier quality. Just something that turns it from
a paper weight to functioning.

Greetings @Waylon713
My pleasure.
This MB is proprietary. You would need a like-kind replacement MB.
I don't see the MB part number listed at HP Part Surfer .
Check the MB for a part number.
Or try "HP Sunflower MB" at eBay.

Sorry for the late reply, finally had more time to get back to this project and dig around. This is the motherboard I have. Just making sure that if I do go the used eBay route that I am getting the correct one from the link here. If it is wrong let me know what one to be on the lookout for.
