Pavilion 500-268ae
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I really want to perform a BIOS update for AMI 80.20 (Baseboard 2AF7) this is now not available from HP for my elderly HP Pavilion 500-268ae Desktop PC.

Please can anyone help me obtain the update flash file to the latest version which I believe to be 80.23

This should fix the  "Press  F1 no fan found" message, I'm fairly sure thereis nothing wtong with the CPU fan as it runs when the processor gets very hot. It is just not recognised during the Boot Process.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Thank you for posting me the sp76898 BIOS update file. After many attempts I did manage to right click and run as administrator, the BIOS is now version updated to 80.23. running windows 10. You are right it did not fix my fan problem which I am now fairly sure is hardware and I need to purchase a new fan from China.

Your help is much appreciated.

sorry
There was little chance
if you change the fan, be careful, and replace the thermal paste of the processor, with a good quality one
I do not have a specific example, but find out more on the net
