So don't touch anything anymore, you have the update
it's the same version !

I hope you understand why I insisted strongly @Scott_M
If you try to force a bios update, as proposed, there was a high risk of blocking the motherboard!

I understand your concern. This is not my first adventure with BIOS upgrades, nor the first with a driver that did not install This is however my first time asking for help in this forum.

the automated HP update service tried to install the update several times before I noticed and tried several more times. I was hoping to find out it was an issue with the file and it had been fixed. This has been the case in the past, was trying to rule that out.

I skimmed the install instructions but really did not find what the issue being fixed is with this update (a security issue I believe i saw on the HP download page), so was also asking about the urgent label to help me assess just how fast i need to get this update working for me.

It's a simple bug, with hp support assistant..
I have already encountered this here, and having doubts, that is why I asked for the update of the bios in place..
It is therefore useless to insist, it is necessary to deactivate the automatic updates option
see for example this topic, (couldn't find the one I'm thinking of)
