@Ultimatumlight1, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with your BIOS update. It sounds like the update process might have encountered an issue, which can sometimes happen with BIOS updates. Here are a few potential reasons and steps you can take to troubleshoot:

Incomplete Update: The update might not have completed successfully, leading to a corrupted BIOS. This can cause the system to fail to boot properly.

Power Interruption: If there was any interruption in power during the update, it could have caused the BIOS to become corrupted.

Compatibility Issues: The BIOS update might not have been fully compatible with your system, even though it was detected as the latest version.

Steps to Troubleshoot

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all external devices and remove the power cord.
  • Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and try to turn on the laptop.

BIOS Recovery:

  • Some HP laptops have a BIOS recovery feature. You can try to recover the BIOS by pressing the Windows key + B while holding down the power button for 2-3 seconds, then releasing the power button while continuing to hold the Windows key + B.
  • If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions to recover the BIOS.

Use a USB BIOS Recovery:

  • Download the BIOS update file from the HP website using another computer.
  • Create a BIOS recovery USB drive following the instructions provided by HP.
  • Insert the USB drive into your laptop and try to boot from it to recover the BIOS.
