Example: Pavilion 690-0010
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Downloaded and installed BIOS update followed by Windows update 2 days ago. Right after the computer was fine. But, when it went to sleep after a period of time, the computer was on but the screen was blank. After performing a hard reset, the screen image size was messed up. I reset it and rebooted the PC; same problem occurred. Is this a function of updating the BIOS? If so, how do I fix this problem. I do not want to hard rest the PC every time I go to use it after a period of it sitting idle.

Thanks

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

I don't think it's a BIOS update problem. A bad BIOS update would break your PC, no POST, and no loading Windows .

But it could be a Windows Update problem.

Try Microsoft System Restore using a restore point prior to the last Windows Update.

But you do have a issue if a Windows Update is causing a problem.

Try running HP Diagnostics (Link) at system startup.

Run a Check Disk (Link) to verify system files.

Regards
