Hi @Jai_Rathia_2025,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I truly understand how alarming it feels when your HP Notebook suddenly shows a black screen with the message: “Boot Device Not Found – Hard Disk (3F0)”. It’s like the heart of your laptop has stopped beating, and you're left staring at a lifeless screen when you need it most. Let’s walk through the steps to bring it back to life.

This error means your notebook can't find the operating system to boot from. Here's what HP recommends:

Step 1: Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Power off your notebook.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly (once every second).
  3. When the Startup Menu appears, press F2 to open System Diagnostics.
  4. Go to Component Tests > Storage > Quick Test.
  5. If the Quick Test passes, run the Extensive Test for a deeper check.

Step 2: Reset BIOS to Default

  1. Turn off the notebook.
  2. Power it on and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
  3. Press F9 to load default settings.
  4. Press F10 to save and exit.

Step 3: Reinstall Windows (if drive is healthy)

If diagnostics show the hard drive is fine, but the OS is missing:

  • Use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool or a bootable USB to reinstall Windows.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
