Hello i was reinstalling the windows when an error popped out and my pc turned off. When i tried to boot the pc the message in a blue window appeared saying boot device not found. I even did the hard drive tests and all have passed successfully

Could you help me please?

Yes, fixing your computer will take some time, but it is easier for your "desktop" computer than it would be for a "notebook" computer.

Still, you first reported that your computer suddenly shut down.  So, something was wrong.

Maybe, as simple as a "power-spike" in the AC power reaching the computer.

Maybe, something is wrong with your computer's hardware. - CPU, RAM, motherboard, disk-drive, power-supply.

Yes, the product-key is embedded on the motherboard, and software tools exist to extract & display it.

 

But, since your computer was running Windows 10, you were granted a "digital license" to reinstall Windows 10, at any time, at no cost, to the same computer.

 

When installing Windows, and being prompted to enter the 25-character product-key, click "I do not have one".

Windows will continue to install.

When Windows can connect to the Internet, your computer will "call home" to Microsoft, to find the product-key, and to activate Windows 10.

Power-off your computer.

Power-on your computer, and enter BIOS SETUP mode.

Check that your disk-drive is detected, and thus is listed. [Since it passed the hardware test, presumably, it is detected.]

Check that it is listed as one of the "eligible" devices as a bootable source.

If it is not listed, then "not found" can be interpreted to mean "not marked as being a choice".

I dont see whats wrong. The hard drive is there selected as booting device.
Im going to reinstall windows from an usb.
Could that work?

Power-off the computer.

Power-on the computer, and launch the HP Hardware Diagnostics, to test the physical disk-drive, i.e., that it responds to commands, and some actual read/write operations work as expected.

 

You could remove the disk-drive from the computer, and connect it as a "secondary" disk-drive to another computer, to see if the disk-drive's "file-system" is logically OK, by viewing some files/folders.  If so, you can backup your personal files from the disk-drive to an external disk-drive.

That would be the ultimate "drastic" step to take -- are we there yet, or can more trouble-shooting be done?

 

Can you boot from the USB stick, which presumably has a "Windows Installer" on it, and choose the "repair" option, rather than the "install" option?
