Hi @Lacarreta154,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that these errors usually mean the PC cannot find a bootable drive/Windows, or an older/unsupported boot path is being blocked by Secure Boot.

What HP recommends:

  • A "Boot Device Not Found / No boot disk / OS not found" error can indicate that the hard drive is missing, not detected, or failing. HP suggests checking the hard drive/storage device connection and searching for the exact error text for model-specific help.

  • If you see SMART hard drive messages, HP advises backing up data as soon as possible because the drive may be failing and may need replacement.

  • For older hardware or some boot scenarios on newer HP Windows 8-era systems, Secure Boot can block startup. HP shows that you can:

    1. Turn on the PC

    2. Press Esc repeatedly to open the Startup Menu

    3. Open Computer Setup (BIOS)

    4. Go to Security

    5. Open Secure Boot Configuration

    6. Disable Secure Boot

    7. Enable Legacy Support

    8. Save changes and restart

If the error continues:

HP’s guidance also says:

  • Reseat/check internal hard drive connections if possible.

  • If file corruption is involved, you may need Microsoft System Restore or HP Recovery.

  • If the drive is failing, a replacement may be required.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
