OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop PC GT21-0000i (392G3AV)

Hi, I have an hp 8918 00 motherboard with an Intel i5 12400F and I bought an i5 14400F. Before I installed new cpu I did a bios update and it went smoothly. Online it says my motherboard supports the processor and there’s basically no power draw change in the processor but with the new processor nothing stays on. My fans and lights turn on for about 1 second and immediately shut off. I’m using the old cpu as of now. Did I get a faulty processor?

Greetings @Grant9077

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Yes, the Blizzard MB (SSID 8918) factory BIOS supports a 14400F processor.

You have a dead CPU or some bent/broken CPU socket pins.

Thanks, the old processor works with it and I’m playing call of duty right now. New egg must have just sent me a bad processor
