Can't sign in as keyboard letters not working only numbers

Just bought new computer yesterday, hp pavilion 590-0050, this morning can’t sign in letters on key board will not work only numbers.  Need help

Are you using Wireless or USB keyboard?

If you are using try connecting the keyboard to USB keyboard, different USB port and check if that works?

Try with another keyboard and check if that works?

Connect this keyboard to a different computer and check if that works?

When mine did that there was a small “sign in options”  underneath the white sign in box. When I clicked that, mine was set to “pin”, so I selected the password box instead, and mine could do letters again. I hope this helps you.
