I am having an issue where I am unable to either update or rollback my bios. I have tried using the driver download exe, the hp support assistant application, and downloading the update through the bios menu itself.
All attempts result in the update not completing or even starting. When I try through the hp support assistant my computer restarts and I get a black screen.
When I try via the bios network update menu the bios image downloads but stalls on that screen, it does not move past “downloading bios image.”
I have also tried installing via the usb by using the hp exe program to create a usb bios update but whenever I plug my usb into my computer the entire thing freezes. I have made sure to enable all usb ports and I have tried all use ports but each time I insert my usb containing the bios update my computer freezes and I have to unplug it to restart it. USB peripherals such as wireless usb keyboard work fine so I know the usb ports do work.
I have also tried rolling back my bios but the same error occurs when it gets stuck at the end of the “downloading bios image” screen. I have tried the method where you unplug the pc, press the windows key+b and plug the power cord back in and press the power button for 2-3 seconds but that does nothing as well.

You may have a hardware problem. Make sure you have the latest UEFI diagnostics and the system test disk and memory of all pass
HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically. When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics. There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS', Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button. The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button. When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one. |

Possibly the bios was corrupted. Use another flash drive. Did you disable bitlocker? Disable passwords?
I attached the flash instructions as I do not know what else I can suggest.
