Hi @James8252
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I understand that you are using an HP Laptop 15-ef1072wm and that the system initially booted normally, but later encountered a BSOD with red lines on the screen. After restarting, the Caps Lock LED blinked 5 times fast followed by 3 times slow, which may indicate a hardware-related issue. I would request you to please follow the steps:
A power reset clears temporary information from the computer's memory and can sometimes resolve unresponsive startup states.
- Turn off the computer.
- Disconnect the AC power adapter from the laptop.
- Remove all accessory and peripheral devices (such as USB drives, memory cards, printers, or external monitors).
- With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the AC adapter, then turn on the computer to see if it starts

Take care and have an amazing day!
