OMEN GT12-0012NP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

I just bought a desktop today (OMEN GT12-0012NP) and in the first time i'm trying to boot it he simply... does not. He gives me sequences of 3 large beeps followed by 3 short beeps until eventually he shuts down. Tested the monitor, tested different cables and the problem still stands. The monitor is black and does not receive any image and the PC is with the lights turned on but no image and just those beeps...

Is this is a common issue for HP or was I really unlucky? Is there any fix that doesn't take days of waiting of returning it to the store in the warranty before I even get it work?

Hi,

You may be unlucky.

Your PC (Link) has a Nvidia 2060. The 3:3 POST error is a graphics card initialization issue. The 3700x CPU does not support integrated graphics so you can't use onboard graphics to test the PC.

Remove the side panel when the PC is off and disconnected from AC power.

Reseat the supplemental PCIe power cable connected to the graphics card. Try to start the PC.

Then reseat the graphics card if reseating the supplemental power supply cable did not work.

A no go again may mean you have a bad graphics card or a MB problem. Look, you could also have a power supply problem. Try different power supply connections to the card if available.

Thank you for the quick answer. Will I get in any trouble with the warranty if I try that?

Hi,

You're very welcome.

Yes, warranty problems can happen if you break something else.

You can also contact HP Support (Link) or return the PC for exchange/refund.
