What did you buy and how did you stop it? I thought I solved this problem myself three weeks ago but it’s back and keeps wanting I reinstall the bad one on reboot. Least I have option to cancel it but so annoying.

Cant fild the files with diskgenius.com. I have two hard drives with different installs of windows 10. The old HD was the original and new hd is SSD. I left the old one in place in case I needed any files or programs. Is there a way to search for the BOIS folder? I assume on the old hard drive? Thank you in advance!

Easy UEFI Professional is the program. I bought it for under $20. After activating can follow the directions to delete the bin and sig file from the previous and new folder on the partition. If you dont want to buy the program I may be able to work with you directly via email or remote desktop to install the program, enter my serial key, and use the program for you.

When open the program:
1. Manage EFI System Partitions
2. EFI System Partition Explorer
3. Select the HDD in the list (likely the one trying to boot from)
4. Click OPEN
5. Click the + to expand the top directory
6. Expand EFI folder
7. Expand HP folder
8. Expand BIOS folder
9. Expand New folder
10. right click each file to delete the .bin and .sig file
This should resolve.

Hi @Jman841
Enter "Advanced System Settings" in search.
Select the search result. Select the "Hardware" tab.
Select Device Installation Settings. Select 'No". Select Save Changes.
Select OK.

Hi @eStian101
Kudos! Downloaded the software. Checked it out. Very nice. This software has all kinds of tools: backup, recover lost files, system migration, all kind of disk management stuff, WoW!
I don't have a HP PC but I am always looking for ways to solve problems in the Forum.
Good find. Use this software to dump the faulty BIOS update in the EFI System Partition. This eliminates wiping the disk and a clean Windows installation.
Then stop Windows Update from installing future faulty HP Firmware updates by using Windows' advanced system settings to disable device installation settings.
