Computer won't boot (Only when Gtx 1050 Ti is inserted)

Hello there,

Being trying to debug this problem with an older friend of mine since it happened. (About 2-3 days ago)  There was a windows update and that's when he wasn't able to power on anymore.  The PC now only works with onboard graphics, however he plugged in his old nVidia Geforce 610 and it works again. (Not the Pci-E slot.)   The thing is this HP computer worked fine with the Gtx 1050 for four months, and it was only after an update it was thrown off.  Equipped /w a 300 watt psu (that's what the specs require)

He was told or read that  "the bios in the card needs to be updated." Card is preventing the machine from running. Perhaps it the card  needs to be updated ... Only solution to think of is downgrading to an older version of Windows 10? The "card cmos" needs to be reset or something, don't know.

So yeah if anyone has any suggestions that'd be great to hear some. Just going to tell him to downgrade if no other ideas come up.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to make sure that legacy mode is enabled and secure boot is disabled in the BIOS.

Maybe the settings got changed to their defaults, and if they did, the PCIe x16 video cards won't work.
