My HP Omen 21C2 desktop computer won't load, after having used it just hours before.
The HP icon appears on the screen while loading, but then all I get is the bluish rotating loop on an otherwise dark screen, telling me the monitor's working, so the issue must be with the software.
BTW, I pressed down the power button for five seconds to shut it down, unplugged the power chord, then waited briefly before restarting it all again, but that didn't work either.
So I have a computer that's not working.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

Hi @Gustin2861
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP Omen 21C2 desktop is stuck in a boot loop, which can often be caused by software or system file corruption.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the computer completely.
- Disconnect the power cord and any external devices (USB drives, peripherals, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the computer back on.
2. Boot into Safe Mode
- Restart the computer and press F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly during startup.
- Select Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options menu.
- If Safe Mode works, you can troubleshoot further by updating drivers or uninstalling recent updates.
3. Run Startup Repair
- Restart the computer and press F11 repeatedly during startup to access the recovery environment.
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
- Follow the prompts to let Windows attempt to fix boot issues.
4. Check for Corrupted System Files
- Open Command Prompt from the recovery environment.
- Run the following command:
sfc /scannow - This will scan and repair corrupted system files.
5. Perform a System Restore
- In the recovery environment, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore.
- Restore your system to a previous point when it was working fine.
6. Update BIOS
- Access the BIOS by pressing F10 during startup.
- Ensure the BIOS is updated to the latest version. You can download updates from the HP Support page.
7. Reinstall Windows
- As a last resort, create a bootable USB using the Windows Media Creation Tool.
- Reinstall Windows, ensuring you back up important data beforehand.
