Help! I have an All in One Athlon Silver. 14 yrs old. I don't use that much. Used last week no problem. I let it go into sleep mode. Power is off and I can't get it to turn on. I've done all the troubleshooting including cord check. Unplugged. It's in surge protector. Unplugged that too. Held down power button 1 minute to reset. Nothing

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Community! 🎉
I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:
Check Power Source:
- Ensure the power outlet is working by testing another device (lamp, phone charger, etc.).
- Double-check the surge protector; try plugging the PC directly into the wall outlet to rule out any surge protector issues.
Power Cable and Connection:
- Verify the power cable is securely connected to both the wall and the PC. If possible, try using a different power cable (or test your cable on another device) to eliminate the possibility of a faulty cord.
Indicator Lights:
- Look for any LED lights on the PC. If there’s a faint light, it means power is getting to the system, but there may be another issue.
Monitor for Power:
- If your All-in-One has a separate monitor, ensure it's turned on and properly connected to the PC. In some cases, the monitor might be the issue.
Hard Reset (Power Drain):
- Unplug the power cord completely.
- Press and hold the power button on the PC for 15-30 seconds to drain any residual power from the system.
- After releasing the power button, plug it back into the power outlet and press the power button again.
Inspect Power Supply Unit (PSU):
- For All-in-One PCs, the PSU is integrated, but still check for any unusual behavior, such as a clicking sound or a faulty power light indicator.
- If you're comfortable doing so, try testing the power supply using a multimeter to check if it's outputting the proper voltage.

External Devices:
- Unplug all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) from the PC and try powering it on without them connected. Sometimes, external peripherals can cause the system to hang or fail to boot.
BIOS Reset (CMOS Battery):
- If your system's BIOS settings have become corrupted, you might need to reset them by clearing the CMOS.
- For this, you would need to open the back of the All-in-One (or follow any guidelines in the manual), find the CMOS battery, and remove it for 5 minutes before reinserting it.
- Alternatively, some systems have a reset button or jumper on the motherboard that can clear the BIOS settings.
Other Considerations:
Listen for Sounds:
- When you press the power button, listen carefully for any sounds from the PC like fan noise or the hard drive spinning up. If you hear nothing, there may be an issue with the motherboard or power supply.
Faulty Power Button:
- Sometimes, the power button itself can be defective. If you have another way of triggering the system to start (like a reset button or a keyboard shortcut), try those to see if the issue lies with the button.
Check for Overheating:
- It might be worth checking the back of the PC for any ventilation blockages. Overheating or dust buildup can sometimes cause systems to fail to start.
