Wait It Out
Sometimes this message can take 30 minutes to an hour to complete. If it hasn’t moved after that, proceed to the next steps.
Force Shutdown and Reboot
Hold the Power button until the computer turns off (10 seconds).
Wait 30 seconds, then press Power to turn it back on.
See if it bypasses the screen — if not, continue.
Use Advanced Options in Recovery
To launch from outside Windows, press f11 while the computer restarts.
Refer: HP PCs - Software recovery options (Windows 11 and Windows 10) | HP® Support
Click Troubleshoot > Advanced Options:
Try these in order:
Startup Repair – Let Windows try to fix itself.
System Restore – Roll back to a previous restore point.
Uninstall Updates → Choose “Uninstall Latest Quality Update” (this is the update that likely caused the issue).
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
Turn off the computer.
Power it on and immediately press ESC repeatedly, then press F2 for System Diagnostics.
Run a System Test to rule out hardware issues.
I hope this helps.
