Hi @AlternativeMind,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about secure boot violation issue, don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • The exact model number of your HP desktop or laptop (usually found on a label at the bottom or back).
  • Whether you recently made any changes, like a BIOS update, Windows update, or installed new hardware/software before this issue started.

Here are a few  steps you can try:

  1. Enter BIOS/UEFI Setup
    • Restart your computer and press Esc or F10 repeatedly as soon as it powers on.
    • Once inside, check the Secure Boot settings under Boot Options.
  2. Toggle Secure Boot
    • If Secure Boot is enabled, try disabling it temporarily and see if the system boots.
    • If it’s disabled, enable it and save changes.
  3. Restore BIOS Defaults
    • In BIOS, look for an option like Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults.
    • Save and exit, then restart.
  4. Update BIOS (if possible)
  • If you can access BIOS, note the version and compare it with the latest available on HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/  for your model.

I hope this helps.

Hi! I tried this and didn't help at all. The exact same thing happens when I restart.

I can't even contact help, because there's no sticker with the serial number. I don't know why, because I would never remove that. So it's like my PC is now garbage?

Hi @AlternativeMind,

Thanks for your response.

I understand how  that must feel. A "Secure Boot Violation" usually points to firmware or boot configuration issues, but since the troubleshooting you tried didn’t resolve it, the next step is to get hands-on support. Even if the serial number sticker is missing, dont worry  the service center can still help you.

You can reach out to the HP authorized service center ; they’ll be able to identify your device through other means (like the BIOS information or purchase details) and assist with repair.

To ensure your device receives the appropriate care, we recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.
