Hi. For the Victus 15L, the specifications clearly stated that the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 of the i7-12700 CPU was disabled, and documentation clearly shows a cover over the mainboard graphics port.
According to knowledgeable people, this machine should run some smaller LLMs. They indicated that, for a slight performance benefit, I could use the integrated graphics for the graphical user interface (windows, gnome, mate, etc), leaving 100% of the discrete / dedicated graphics for the LLMs.
The BIOS does not offer / have a graphics option to either (1) activate only integrated graphics, (2) activate only discrete graphics, or (3) enable both integrated and discrete graphics (like some laptops).
I assume that the discrete / dedicated graphics is always enabled, unless there is a BIOS setting to disable the PCIex16 slot, or, there is not a GPU in the pciex16 slot.
Is the reason the integrated graphics is disabled because (1) the mainboard graphics port is not physically connected to the CPU, (2) because the CPU cooler cannot cool the CPU if the integrated graphics is active, (3) because this is a special CPU and it is disabled in the CPU, or (4) it is just disabled because it is disabled.
Some desktop mainboards, if there is no GPU in the PCIex16 slot, the BIOS will automatically enable the integrated graphics. If this is the case, will a BIOS graphics option appear so I can then set the BIOS to keep the integrated graphics enabled, after I reinstall the GPU in the pciex16 slot.
Thanks.

Hi:
If this is the motherboard your PC has, the integrated graphics is not available if a graphics card is installed.
HP Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, Reno | HP® Support
I don't know why that would be other than I don't know of any HP consumer desktop PC that supports the onboard graphics adapter being available along with the add-on video card, not just yours.
However, this feature is available on most of the HP Prodesk and Elitedesk business desktop PCs.
I've actually enabled that feature on my HP and Dell business desktop PC's just to see how it worked.
Then I disabled it because I don't use dual monitors or have a need for more than just one GPU.
So, the answer would be (4) it is just disabled because it is disabled if a graphics card is installed.

Thanks for taking time to reply. If you feel like a little more discussion then even better.
So I guess I am looking for a mainboard with BIOS (UEFI of course) multi-view / multi-monitor option, and supports iGPU passthrough. That means a z890 chipset. I also need a pcix8 slot for a performance SAS card and at least a 5070ti GPU. The current HP EliteDesk 8 Tower G1i Desktop seems to have the q870. Thanks again.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any HP PCs that check all of the boxes you require.
This is the closest PC I could find regarding what you are looking for:
