HP Pavilion Power Desktop - 580-105nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Some time ago I mounted a Crucial P5 500GB PCIe M.2 2280SS SSD module.

Since the Desktop was sometimes fast and sometimes slow to boot, I decided to disconnect the hard disk and maintain the SSD only.

I have also upgraded the BIOS to the last version and verified the SSD has the last firmware.

By the way, the time to boot was always variable from 15 seconds to 2 minutes.

Sometimes the desktop does not boot so I have to switch off and restart.

Now it does not boot any more (Picture 2).

So I have reconnected the hard disk.

Please, I have these questions:

1) which key have I to press to enter in the BIOS and choose the boot sequence? ESC, F2, F4, F6, F10 or what else?

I fear that the BIOS has some problems because if I see the picture 1, I don't succeed in starting the menu by pressing ESC as indicated.

2) in figure 2 the error (no drive found to boot)

3) I don't remember how, but I succeeded to enter the BIOS (maybe F10???) and I have selected the hard disk to boot, so the PC finally has started and I am writing this post. Please help.

4) I suspect the SSD is failed, do you agree?

Thank you

Hello, thanks for your useful link.

By the way, I have already solved in another way:

the cause was the CD/DVD drive.

I disconnected it and the PC now is working very well with the SSD module.

I disconnected the hard disk too, because it interfere in the boot (maybe I should connect it in the SATA1 and not SATA0 connector, but I did not try).

Now everything is working fine. The time to start is about 12 seconds every time, I can enter BIOS through F10 with no problem.

Have a nice day.
