H8-1403
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
It all started when I wanted to update my operating system from 8.1 to 10. Everything went smoothly but then I noticed I had my 16gb caching ssd. So following some instructions on the internet to set up the ssd I entered the bios settings and I believe I changed the sata emulation or something like that to raid. Now whenever I boot my pc it displays no source signal. Now I've spent many hours looking for a solution ie.removing my ram putting it back in, removing cmos battery to reset bios but the step that actually got my monitor to pick up a signal was when I did the key combination boot of holdIng the windows and b buttons while turning on the computer on. But whenever I turn off my computer it returns to no signal to monitor. Any input and help would be Greatly appreiated.

Hi,

Even if you power on the PC and Windows doesn't load a video driver you still will receive a message pertaining to no video source from the monitor.

What video card is installed in your PC?

Hi,

The caching SSD was supported by Condusiv under Windows 8.  The Intel RAID support for caching was not used when your PC was shipped.  You just can't change the BIOS to RAID mode and then expect Windows to pick up the RAID drivers without booting up in SAFE mode first.

I suspect that your PC failed to boot when loading disk drivers even though you have stated no such message.

Turning off the PC but leaving the monitor active would result in the "no signal" message.

Power up the PC and rapidly tap the ESC key. You should be able to enter the BIOS. Then reverse the SATA mode change from RAID back to AHCI mode, save the change, power off and then power up your PC.

Once you get you PC up and running then post back and I help you get the caching SSD working.

Thank you Dave for the response. I'm out right now on my phone but as soon as I get home ,which will be shortly, I'll try your method. But I may have misworded some things. My monitor displays no source input with it connected to the pc and plugged in via dvi with the pc TURNED ON. The only way I was able to receive any input to my monitor from my pc was with the windows b key combinations. I was on the windows desktop and everything was fine but then i turned off my pc and turned it Back on and the monitor again did Not pick up any input once again.

Hey Dave, I tried to rapidly press the ESC button while turning on the computer and after it's on but there it still displays as no source signal on the monitor. I think that's the key to enter the bios right?

Hi,

Remove the video card and attach the monitor with a known good cable (no adapters) to the motherboard video port.

BTW---the WIN+B key would not cause your issue.  It's a red herring with your issue.
