I've been having a series of unfortunate events with my OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop GT22-0601nf. While checking the SSD from the command prompt, the power cable was accidentally pulled out.
Since then, I've encountered the following issues:
- Green Screen of Death: Initial attempts to fix the system were unsuccessful, with the PC indicating it couldn't be repaired.
- SSD Invisibility: Reinstalling Windows 11 via USB failed to recognize the SSD.
- Secure Boot and Driver Installation: I could only access the SSD by disabling Secure Boot, but then Windows prevented manual driver installation due to app control restrictions, likely related to the disabled Secure Boot. I get “your organization used app control for business to block this app”.
- Turning off Secure boot after installation: The SSD is not recognized again.
- Checking the SSD from within Windows doesn't return error. But there are different partitions I see.
Now, I want to replace the main NVME SSD, but I can only see the 2nde (free) expansion slot. Where is it the main one located?
I can't find anything about the MB, I can only see a small sticker that says "e1454832" which refers to a DELL mainboard (!) that looks quite similar to this OMEN branded MB.

Finally got it to work. Found an article on MS website about those errors. Strangely, an article about Windows Canary. I had to type some commands as administrator and it worked. Put back the safe boot and everything ok. What as hassle. It was like going back to win 3.1...

Hi:
The reason Windows can't find the drive when you go to install it is because you need to load the Intel storage controller drivers when you are at that part of the installation process on all PC's with the Intel 11th - 13th generation Core processors.
I have zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers that should work for Windows to find the drive.
The attached file is good for both W10 & W11.
Copy all of the files in both folders in the attached file to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Click Next, and W11 should install.
As far as where to find the primary NVMe SSD, please see the service video at the link below:

Hopefully, you will not need to replace the drive.

Thanks for the reply!
I tried your suggestions:
- Unzipped the driver files and placed them on a FAT32 formatted USB drive.
- Manually pointed the driver installation at all the directories, but I still get the "error scanning for drivers" message.
It's strange because yesterday I managed to install Windows 11 with secure boot enabled, and the hard drive was recognized without any drivers. The installation almost finished, but after the final reboot, I got a "Hard Disk (3F0)" error. I had to disable secure boot to get back into Windows.
Now, it seems like I'm stuck in some kind of safe mode, and I can't run any apps or install drivers. When I try, I get this message: "Your organization used App Control for Business to block this app." I've even tried using the HP website to automatically install the drivers, but no luck.
My BIOS is up-to-date (F53). Any other ideas?
