HP 500B MT
Microsoft Windows XP

Hi. I'm trying to upgrade a HP 500B MT desktop from Windows XP to Windows 7, using a USB Stick. However, under the boot options, there are only 4 available ways to boot i.e.

  • CD-ROM Group
  • Hard Drive Group
  • Floppy Group
  •  Network Boot Group.

I'd like to know if there is a way to add the USB boot option on the boot menu.

Thanks.

Open that "hard drive group".

It is possible that the USB device is listed as a member of that group.

If so, order the list of members to put the USB as the first member, then choose the "hard drive group" as the first member of that group.
