HP website has been absolutely no help with this the windows + v or the windows + b reset does nothing and they have not recovery bios listed on their website to download a recovery version to try and load on boot. tried pulling the battery with not success either.
After the windows update it installed a firmware update that crashed not the system just keep looping into the bios update failed screen and there is not way to break out of it. Of course the system is just out of warranty and HP has no kind of drivers or firmware recovery for this listed on their site. I have seen that other have had the problem but no solutions listed.

Hi @jbarth1
It seems like you are caught between a rock and a hard place.
Your PC has the MonkD MB, MB SSID 86F2. Window Update may have pushed a HP firmware update to your PC for the MonkP MB, MB SSID 86F3.
I have seen a few other PCs using the MonkD MB having this problem. Check this Forum thread for one example. Read all responses in this thread.
You would need a different MonkD BIOS version to fix this but none seems to exist.
Try HP Support to see what HP says.
Otherwise you may have to replace the MB and avoid the HP firmware update provided by Windows Update.
It is possible the older BIOS version .bin files and .sig files are contained in the current system drive EFI System Partition. A local tech might be able to use those files to flash the BIOS to the older version.

Hi,
One last thought: you should probably clear the incorrect .bin and .sig files while you're checking the EFI System Partition.
They will come back again when you start the PC if the EFI System Partition contains these files .
