Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My Omen pc has been stuck in a seemingly endless BIOS update loop and I’d really appreciate if anybody has successfully solved this issue before.

I didn’t make any software or hardware changes, was using it with no problems last night and when I turned it on this evening it went to the BIOS update screen. It completes the update then the screen goes black, emits 8 beeps and begins the process again.

i’ve tried various tips regarding F10 and holding down Windows & B keys, and nothing seems to stop the process. It’s only three months old and so still in warranty.

any help appreciated!

Hi,

I don't see a constant 8 beep BIOS error code at this HP site (Link).

I see 3.5, or 4.4, or 5.3 beep codes.

I would contact HP Support (Link) to use your warranty option if this problem was caused by a bad HP Support Assistant BIOS update.

I have seen many HP PCs have problems with HP Support Assistant BIOS updates. It is better to do a manual BIOS update using the HP driver download site.

Regards
