hp pav 590
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Pav 590 will not power on i did the power drain by unplugging the power cord then holding the power button for 10 seconds then when i plugged it back up all the fans came on but still will not power on. Tried all the steps i found here but none is working. I purchased it Oct 2018 it is out of warranty but it is not that old. Any help would be appreciated.

@sqrlley Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that HP desktop will not power on.

When was it working before?

Have you made any changes to the computer?

Please perform the below steps and check.

Hard Reset:

1) Shutdown the computer.

2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.

3) Remove the Battery. ( not for Built-in Battery computer )

4) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.

5) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer if it's a (removable battery)

6) Try to turn on the computer and check, If the issue persists continue next step

Set BIOS default and restart:

  1. Restart your notebook.
  2. During startup, press F10 repeatedly until the BIOS menu is displayed.
  3. Once the BIOS menu is displayed, press F9 to restore factory defaults.
  4. Select Yes to confirm.
  5. Press F10 to save changes and exit.
  6. Select Yes to confirm.
  7. The computer restarts using the default settings.

Please refer to the below link to more troubleshoot the issue.

I did all the steps. It still does the same thing. I plug the power cord in and all the fans come on but it will not turn on. And the fans keep going til i unplug it. I did let it sit for 24 hours no power and when i plugged it up only one fan came on but still did not turn on. Now this is strange when i drained it for 24 hours and plugged it up it sounded like it was going to boot up but the power light did not come on nothing was on the screen and the mouse was not on, the ethernet light was on but that is because i plugged the power cord back in. I let it run with the one fan for about 30 minutes and still could not get it to turn on. So now let me tell you this when i press the on/off button it does not light up at all even if i hold it up to 30 seconds that is strange cause it usually comes on and goes right back off when i do a power drain on it. I tried the BIOS reset holding the windows key and B at the same time to see if that would work still nothing. This is frustrating considering i purchased it Oct 2018. It should not be going bad considering i also have a emachine that was purhased when  windows 7 came out  and it is still working fine. Never had issues with HP til now not sure why.
