Sometimes when I turn on the HP Z400 it doesn't boot. No initial boot screen, just the blue power light comes on and no activity on the monitor. Restarting it (turning off and on) fixes it. It boots fine after I restart it. Does anyone have any idea what might cause this behaviour?

I was doing a backup and ran into issues (system file error). So, I ran chkdsk and it found no problems. I then ran sfc /scannow and it found a couple of issues and fixed them. Since running sfc things seem ok. Still couldn't get a backup without "ignore bad sectors" even though chkdsk didn't pick up any errors. Will try running chkdsk /b sometime. But anyway, I think the original problem is fixed by sfc fixing some file errors. (My initial details around not seeing the boot screen on startup may have been incorrect.)

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer doesn’t boot sometimes.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
What is the product number of your computer?
Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.
